For those in the city on a business trip and having some time to work downtown, entrepreneurs in need of a day office, or for local freelancers who need a workplace - Helsinki offers plenty of beautiful and versatile co-working spaces and community offices that provide with just what you need.

Whether to drop in just for the day or if you are looking for a more permanent place, these spaces offer all the facilities one could look for - because sometimes working from home, the hotel room or a cafe just isn’t the best option to focus and to be productive. These places offer day passes,  with prices between 15€ and 30€  and some are also free to use.

MOW Mothership

This modern, quiet and professional work space in the city centre famously includes popcorn in their offer, but that’s not the only great thing about them. If there is a spontaneous meeting on the agenda, it is possible to book an additional meeting room, and for incoming phone calls there are sound-proof phone booths make sure conversations can be held undisturbed. The atmosphere is sophisticated and the crowd inspiring to take your business to the next level. For lunch there’s no need to go much further, as there are several lunch restaurants close by. Cocktail bar Bar Mate is located in the same building, and is a nice spot for an afterwork drink.

Sofia Helsinki

In the heart of historic Helsinki lies Sofia Helsinki - just aside of the Senate square, in the grand building from 1913, which was home to Stockmann in their beginnings. It was turned into a beautiful co-working and office community in August 2018, where it now brings together the creative minds of the city. Sofia offers stunning event spaces in this historic setting, a fantastic culinary experience while at it. Sofia is for those who want to connect with the community of entrepreneurs in a laid-back environment. Included in their day pass is one-day access to the Sofia’s co-working areas in the Atelier (for focused work) and Club house (for a more relaxed moment) areas, attendance of cultural events and coaching programs of the day.

Wonderland Work

On the other side of Helsinki in the Vallila area, Wonderland co-working opened as another one-stop-shop for those looking for an independent workspace, featuring meeting rooms and event spaces, as well as a restaurant downstairs so one doesn’t even have to leave the building for lunch. It’s a great spot for those who prefer to be out of the city and it has bright spacious coworking desks. It’s a modern space that hosts lots of local businesses and freelancers. Village Works

Village Works is operated from several locations, which are some of the best spots in town, so they offer great options when in need of a quiet work space that’s right in the center of everything. Their offices are a great option to use every now and then or to pop in for the day. The crowd is quite mixed with many day visitors -  Meeting rooms are available to book as well, and the location easily allows for running errands or going for a nice lunch without going far.

Helsinki Think Company

As part of the entrepreneurship society of the University of Helsinki, HTC is around in different locations around the city, with open co-working spaces that is free to use for all, both entrepreneurs and those in academia. They are passionate in bringing different people together both to work and for events. The space in the city centre is strikingly modern and breathes Nordic vibes, with a lot of wood and concrete, and a very inviting environment to spend a couple of hours working.

Start-up Sauna

A lot of things began with the Start-up Sauna that is just over in Espoo, a short metro ride away from the city centre, and located on the premises of the Aalto University. For many years already, this space and the team behind it has put the focus on all things related to Start-up activities in the area. The heart of the space is - who would have guessed - a sauna. Also a popular hosting spot for all kinds of events, there is always a lot going on here.
