S:t Henry's Cathedral

Saint Henry's Cathedral, located in Kaivopuisto, Helsinki, is the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Helsinki. The church was built in 1858-1860 when Finland was a Grand Duchy of Imperial Russia. The church has been the Cathedral of the Diocese of Helsinki since 1955. Saint Henry's Cathedral is one of the oldest neo-Gothic churches in Finland. It was designed by German-born architect Ernst Bernhard Lohrmann (1803-1870) who followed Carl Ludvig Engel as Chief Architect in Helsinki.

Puotila Chapel

The Puotila chapel, built in the former granary of the Puotila manor, is one of the most popular wedding churches in Helsinki. At the highest point of the Puotilantie side end of the Puotila chapel is a granite stone with the engraving "J. H. L. 1859". The initials refer to the builder of the granary, Johan Henrik Lindroos. The current main building of the adjacent Puotila manor dates back to the 18th century. The Puotila manor and its grounds were transferred to the ownership of Helsinki in 1933. The Helsinki parishes bought the dilapidated granary from the city in 1959. Architect, Tarja Salmio-Toiviainen, designed a chapel there, which was completed in 1963.

St. Paul's Church

The church, named after Apostle Paul, stands solid in the corner park of Sturenkatu and Hämeentie. The church was designed by architect Bertel Liljeqvist. The foundation stone of St. Paul's church was laid in autumn 1929, and the church was dedicated in March 1931. The Winter War damaged the pillars of the main entrance and one wall. The traces of the war are still visible.

Oulunkylä Old Church

The old church of Oulunkylä was built in 1905 as the house of prayer of the Evangelical Association, partly by volunteer Oulunkylä residents. When the Oulunkylä parish was founded in 1919, the house of prayer was turned into a temporary church. The parish bought it from the association in 1950. The church served as the main church of the parishioners until the new church was competed in 1972. Since then, the atmospheric wooden church has been a popular venue for baptisms and weddings.

Oulunkylä Church

This unassuming multipurpose church was built next to Teinintie in 1972. It was designed by Heikki Castrén. The pine altar sculpture "Minä se olen" (It is I), from 1972 by sculptor Raimo Heino, caused much discussion. The theme of the sculpture is the capture of Jesus in Gethsemane. The communion requisites are by designer and sculptor, Tapio Wirkkala; the copper and linen altar textiles by textile artist Lea Thil-Junnila.

Olaus Petri Church

Olaus Petri church by architect is Ture Rydberg was founded in 1932. The Olaus Petri parish was founded in 1922 and belonged to the Swedish church until 2007. The church and the parish still serve Swedish citizens and those with a connection the Swedish church and Sweden.
