Valery and I had already been to Helsinki loads of times before the this visit. Moreover, I lived in a city near Helsinki for over 4 years, that’s why I would have never expected that I would encounter something completely new in the capital of Suomi. To my surprise, I did! We got a chance to get familiar with an absolutely new Helsinki that I had never seen before!

Russian Aleksandr Snitovskii & Valeriya Sokolova visited Helsinki in the summer, and displayed their enthusiasm on their popular Instagram accounts snitovskii & valerysokolova.

Here follows 5 tips and their recommendations that will help you best enjoy Helsinki:

1) Restaurants Olo & Gaijin: "These appeared to be some of the best ones we have ever been to (even though we have been to the best restaurants in France, the UAE, Korea and loads of others all over the world). You will have enough juicy content to create perfect reviews about these places!"

2) Suomenlinna Sea Fortress Island: This is the place where every second Finn wants to live in - and it is just a couple of minutes from the center of Helsinki! We liked its contrasts: the island with the city right in its background. Wooden houses, small fields, hills, bastions and much more.

3) Flow Festival: The culmination of our whole trip was Flow Festival, which just hit us with its scale and organization! Just imagine, on Friday you blow up the crowd under the tracks of Finnish rappers, on Saturday you stand in a huge crowd of Arctic Monkeys fans, and on Sunday you destroy the dance floor under techno, completing an hour-long flex with Kendrick Lamar!

4) Linnanmäki Amusement Park: We recommend that you should come here on weekdays, a couple of hours before closing! Because that way, you will not stand in any lines!

5) Helsinki ZooWhen we went to the zoo, we planned to take a couple of photos with the tigers and deers. However, we did not take into account the fact that many of the animals sleep during the daytime. So we took pictures with bushes! Therefore, our hint is, to remember to visit the zoo early in the morning or before closing, so that there are fewer people and the animals are not so tired.
