We Chinese have always had great interest in and love for Finland, which emotion probably started from the Nokia era. We admire the Finnish very much because they are full of cleverness and innovative spirit, and are good at creating and inventing!

Nono & Realchi, Weibo: 抬头看风景

Chinese Nono & Realchi visited Helsinki in winter and wrote several posts as a result of this on their Weibo accounts Nono & Realchi

Here follows a short summary of their posts with 5 tips out of their recommendations in Helsinki:

1. Finnish people have designed many wonderful works in varies field. For example, the mobile games Boom Beach and Angry Birds they developed have captured the attention of the world. In addition, Finnair is also a surprise and astonishes people. Because it made a great success of establishing Helsinki as a transit point between East Asia and Europe, which makes this city unique and different and lets easterners be more interested in it.

2. Although this is not the first time for us to come to Helsinki, during this one-week-long trip, we still felt that we saw Helsinki in a new way and established a totally new impression on this city. We realized that Helsinki has so many beautiful and colorful places that we didn’t notice before. In terms of art, Helsinki is  very rich and colorful. It really astonished us and we didn’t expect that there are so many art galleries and museums all over the small old town. Although Chinese people do not know much about the Western art, we believe the spots about art like the Finnish National Gallery Ateneum will still attract many Chinese visitors.

3. What left the deepest impression on us were two libraries: The National Library of Finland and Helsinki Central Library Oodi. The National Library of Finland is full of the atmosphere of antiquity and solemnity and is much like Hogwarts School in the film Harry Potter. In contrast, Helsinki Central Library Oodi is a representative of the modern library, which reveal a cheerful and harmonious atmosphere everywhere. However, both libraries are well suited to the tastes of Chinese visitors.

 4. Moreover, Allas Sea Pool and Löyly sauna also left a deep impression on us. As we are from the north of China where people have been taking sauna since their childhood, so this trip to Finland made us feel like finally returned to our hometown.

5. The food experiences during this trip were also rich. For example, the Savotta restaurant we have been to is full of traditional Finnish flavors and the hospitality of the waiters there also impressed us so much.
