Illustrator Meria Palin's exhibition combines familiar Finnish forest animals with a dreamy landscape environment.

In her works, Meria Palin ponders what it would be like to encounter animals in the silence of dusk or in a hazy dream. In addition to a fox, a hare and a bear, the paintings also feature the holly blue, which was chosen as the national butterfly of Finland in 2017, the national bird whooper swan and the national fish perch.

The images are printed on acoustic discs, whose ability to transform noise into a tolerable sound even for those with sensitive hearing gives hope for quiet moments even in busy places.

Natural History Museum, cafe

19.3.–26.5.2024

Tue-Fri 10.30-17.00

Sat 10.30-18.00

Sun 11.30-17.00

Free entry
