Finland's oldest academic mixed choir Hämäläis-Osakunnan Laulajat is celebrating its 95th anniversary by performing in Kallio Church.
<p>Finland's oldest academic mixed choir Hämäläis-Osakunnan Laulajat is celebrating its 95th anniversary by performing in Kallio Church. </p><p>Founded in 1929, the choir has thirty singers, most of whom are students of the University of Helsinki. In addition to the current composition of HOL, the concert will feature a large choir consisting of current and former choir members. </p><p>The program includes beloved classics, e.g. music by Sibelius as well as more recent choral works such as Thomas Jennefelt's Two Anthems and Z. Randall Stroope's The Conversion of Saul. </p><p>The choir is performing Berliner Messe composed by Arvo Pärt together with organist Markku Mäkinen. </p><p>The concert will be led by Hiski Wallenius together with the previous directors of HOL.</p><p> </p><p>Kallio Church</p><p>11.5.2024</p><p>12.00-14.00</p><p>Tickets 10-20€ from Lippupiste, incl. program</p>
