Mass hysteria, do-it-yourself art and resistance to social oppression – Festival of Political Photography celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new exhibition <p>Mass hysteria, do-it-yourself art and resistance to social oppression – Festival of Political Photography celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new exhibition at The Finnish Museum of Photography.</p><p>The theme of Festival of Political Photography 2024 is diagnosis. The works in the festival highlight the collective resistance to the diagnosis of the individual. The exhibition asks what if the problem is societal structures, and it is society rather than individuals that needs curing.</p><p>The festival will feature photographers and artists: Laia Abril (On Mass Hysteria), Myriam Boulos (What’s Ours), August Joensalo (F64.8 - Other gender identity disorder), Jan Kaila (Elis Sinistö and Villa Mehu – Do-it-yourself life) and Phan Nguyen (ManiQueer).</p><p>Festival of Political Photography (PVF) was founded in 2014 and celebrates its 10th anniversary.
