Autumn Concert: When The Night Comes at the House of Nobility on 18 October 2023. <p>The Academic Male Voice Choir Of Helsinki's evocative autumn concert creates a world of night, sleep, and sleeplessness, where music can fill with courage those who are afraid of the darkness, lull to sleep those who are restless, but also awaken those who have nightmares.<br><br>The theme of the concert revolves around the border between the subconscious and concrete experiences: a person with a fever rambles in their sleep, a lonely individual feels the sense of solitude during the long hours of the night, and those who suffered in wars still have nightmares many years after the battles.<br><br>In the repertoire, you will hear winning pieces from the choir's composition competition, some of which will have their world premiere during the concert. Additionally, there will be music by Karin Rehnqvist and Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, as well as choral works by the American composer Timothy C. Takach and arrangements by the Briton Paul Ayres of an aria from Arthur Sullivan and W. S.
