Dipoli serves as Aalto University's main building ever since autumn 2017. As a building, it represents a new type of multi-purpose design that showcases the University's expertise, activities and people. Dipoli offers the entire Aalto community and its stakeholders meeting places and work spaces as well as event and exhibition facilities.

Dipoli was originally designed in 1966 by Raili and Reima Pietilä as the new university building for technology students. The bedrock and surrounding forest have inspired the sculptural copper and granite facade, which is a Finnish architectural gem.
