Kuusijärvi

Kuusijärvi is a popular all-season outdoor recreational center. In summertime a large sandy beach and in wintertime a beautiful cross-country skiing landscape with an invigorating ice swimming possibility are the foundations for Kuusijärvi's popularity. Kuusijärvi offers the only traditional smoke saunas in Helsinki Metropolitan area open to public on regular basis.

Restaurant Cafe Kuusijärvi is open throughout the year and serves lunch on weekdays and soup lunch on weekends.

Marjaniemi beach

Marjaniemi beach is a sandy, in summer supervised public beach close to Itäkeskus. It is suitable for families with children, while the water is shallow quite far.

Aurinkolahti beach

The soft and sandy beach lures visitors of all age to enjoy a summer day on on one of the city's most beloved recreational area.

There are cabins, toilets and a café at the beach.

Uunisaari

Uunisaari island is located close to the city centre, offering a tranquil and relaxing seaside atmosphere. Close to the Kaivopuisto park, the island is a short boat ride from Merisatama (Komapassi). In wintertime, approx. from mid-November to mid-April, there is a pedestrian bridge connection to the island. Uunisaari café serves delicacies, there are saunas to rent (also with public sauna hours) and a beach, which is popular in summer.

Seurasaari bath and beach

In 1906 a bathing beach was built for the citizens on the west side of Seurasaari. It still has its old look from the years back. Women and men have separate sections. Nowadays the beach is a nudist beach, but everyone can enjoy it on Wednesdays and Sundays, which means that a swimming suite is mandatory on these days.

Munkkiniemi beach

Munkkiniemi beach, located approx. 5km from the city centre, is a sandy, shallow beach popular with families with children. Services on the Munkkiniemi beach: cabins, toilets, children's playground, showers, beach-volley ground, weightlifting area and kiosk.

Hietaranta beach

Hietaranta (also called Hietsu) offers a shallow and safe swimming area and is very popular on hot summer days. You can also enjoy beach volleyball and basketball. Children have their own play area. Café bar GT1929 in the pavillion serves eg. coffee, ice cream, burgers etc. Nearby you will also find a miniature golf course and the Taivallahti Tennis Centre.
