In a parallel culture of late romanticism and modernism, they drew influences from current trends around Europe. A neutral position in the First World War made this possible even after the war. The Second World War brought the flourishing classical music scene into a state of shock. It wasn't until many decades later that forgotten composers who died in concentration camps began to be brought back into the spotlight.

Welcome to the concert of BMus mezzo-soprano Emilia Juvonen and MMus pianist Jasper Koekoek, a concert dedicated to the wonderful art songs composed by Dutch composers. Juvonen studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and Koekoek is a half-Dutch pianist who aims to promote cultural exports between his home countries. The concert takes place with the support of the Art Promotion Center and in cooperation with the Dutch Association in Finland.
