Dur… <p><strong>The second Aavistus Festival in its history will take place in Helsinki from 6th to 9th October. During the festival, you can experience audiovisual installations, participate in workshops and listen to interesting discussions at the City Museum!⁣</strong></p><p>Aavistus is a biennial of audiovisual art and VJ culture. The festival hosts a lineup of local and international VJ performances, audiovisual live performances, projection mapping, workshops, an exhibition of installed works and more.⁣</p><p>In the fourth floor of the Helsinki City Museum, the festival exhibits installations by the following artists: Arvid van der Rijt, Hannu Karjalainen, Łukasz Horbów, Sini Henttu, Nori Kin and Reetta Nummi and Tomas De Rita.</p><p>The exhibition is open on Friday 7 October from 11am to 7pm, Saturday 8 October from 11am to 12am and Sunday 9 October from 11am to 5pm⁣.</p><p>.</p><p><strong>Workshops and panels at the City Museum:⁣</strong> ⁣ <strong>Thu 6 Oct⁣</strong> ⁣ <strong>14:00–16:00, Falkman wing⁣</strong> workshop⁣ <strong>Jonas Johansson: The Exquisite Machine – Co-creating visual stories through machine-dreaming⁣</strong> Closed event for workshop participants. Registration ended⁣. ⁣ <strong>Fri 7 Oct⁣</strong> ⁣ <strong>14:00–16:00, lobby⁣</strong> panel talk⁣ <strong>"Underground funding &amp; Nordic Culture", moderated by Jonas Johansson.⁣</strong> A panel talk on underground funding and Nordic culture with Ava Grayson (Nordic Lights artist), Merle Karp (Aavistus co-founder), Jonas Johansson (NAVA) and Geir Lindahl (Nordic Culture Point). The talk is held in English.</p><p><strong>Sat 8 Oct</strong></p><p><strong>12:00–14:00, Kasari</strong> workshop <strong>Antti Polojärvi &amp; Tuomas Ahva: Accidental Response – Abstract animation with 16 mm projector</strong> Antti Polojärvi creates abstract animations using old 16 mm projectors and transparent filmstrip. In the workshop, the techniques used to make animations are presented, and at the end, the participants get to create their own animation, which is recorded on video. Free entrance. The workshop is held in both Finnish and English and suitable for children.</p><p><strong>13:00–14:30, lobby</strong> lecture <strong>Olli- NIemi Pynttäri: Basics of VJ information technology</strong> The lecture will cover the technology side of the VJ hobby, from the point of the necessary equipment and programs. In addition, some methods of content production are introduced. In the lecture we also talk about gigging and sound reactivity of visuals. Free entrance. The lecture is in Finnish.</p><p><strong>15:00–16:00, lobby</strong> workshop <strong>Random Doctors: Resolume</strong> Random Doctors' Rajatonvimma presents the basics of the leading VJ program, Resolume. Participants are recommended to download the demo version of the program on their own computer from the address: <a href="https://resolume.com/download/">resolume.com/download/.</a> &lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Free entrance. The workshop is in English.&lt;/span&gt;</p><p><strong>18:00–19:30, lobby</strong> panel <strong>"Crossing borders in immersive art experience" hosted by Suvi Suvereeni</strong> Suvi Parrilla invites the Aavistus Festival artists to talk about how they interpret immersive art. Artists participating in the talk: AMUSED (SE), Arvid van der Rijt (FI/NL), Emer Värk (EE), Katia Vonna Beltran (FR), Pink Twins (FI) and Sannimari Honkanen (FI). Free entrance. The talk is in English.</p><p><strong>Sun 9 Oct</strong></p><p><strong>15:00–16:00, lobby</strong> panel "Early VJ paths in the 2000s" hosted by Andrew Gryf Paterson from Pixelàche A panel talk on the development of visual and professional practice from the early 2000s to now. Featuring three VJs who have things to show and tell of their journey. Free entrance.
