Slowly but surely the city of Helsinki has become a city that indulges in breakfast like no other. For long Finnish people have sworn by the virtues of an oatmeal breakfast. Finnish people from children to adults, office dwellers to the Finnish army have marched on this fibre fueled brain food. But don't be fooled, Helsinki offers an array of delicious and creative culinary concoctions to kick start your day.

Whether it is comforting bowl food you crave, when every spoonful is the same or protein-packed omelets and smoked salmon after a spinning lesson, you’ll find it all in Helsinki. Yet if it’s a pick-me-up you require there are plenty of places that offer indulgent pancakes, French toast and waffles, seeking to offer protection from life solely through the means of sugar, carbs and butter.
