Pirkkola swimming hall

Pirkkola swimming hall, built in 1968, is located at Helsinki Central Park at the Pirkkola Sports Park, which is an active sports and exercise centre with outdoor routes, sports fields and other sports facilities.

The swimming hall offers a big pool, children's pool, learners pool with waterslide, café and outdoor sun terrace.

"Plotti", run in summer, is a small shallow artificial swimming "pool" with a sandy bottom and beach, especially popular among families with small children.

Oittaa recreational area

Oittaa recreational area, located at the southern end of Lake Bodom, offers multiple possibilities for outdoor activities.

In winter season Oittaa recreational area offers (weather permitting) cross country skiing trails, ice skating, snow shoeing, mountain biking trails and ice swimming. The sauna at the old barn is heated daily during winter season, in summer during weekends.

In summer the beach by the Bodom lake at Oittaa is one of the most popular ones in Espoo. In the area you can also find a frisbee golf course, a beach volleyball field, a permanent orienteering course and an Angry Birds-playground.

From Oittaa recreational area it is also possible to reach Nuuksio national park and Luukki recreational area via outdoor- and nature trails.

The restaurant at Oitta offers tasty and healthy treats as well as lunch. And there's an equipment rental here as well.

Pikkukoski beach

Pikkukoski beach is a popular, sandy beach in Oulunkylä.

Services on the Pikkukoski beach include cabin,shower, toilet, weightlifting area, basketball and volleyball ground and children's playground.

The City of Helsinki supervises the beach during the swimming season.

Lonna Sauna

The public sauna on Lonna island pays homage to the traditional sauna culture. The log-built cabin has saunas with lofts for both men and women. Saunas are heated by large wood-burning stoves. Sauna times are set by the hour - 12 new guests can enter both saunas every hour. The bathing time is two hours. There is a large terrace next to the sauna where one can cool off while enjoying great views of the surrounding islands.

Mixed sauna days are Tuesday and Friday.
